Overnight with the ferry from Genoa to Porto Torres, then down into the southwest: Iglesias, a wine tour at Cantina Aru and our base in Portoscuso right by the sea. This page follows our actual route and grows with every visit: tested places, real costs and our own photos.

Cantina Aru
Valle del Cixerri, Iglesias
Family-run winery just before Iglesias. We did the wine tour: through the vines, into the cellar and the small ethnographic museum, followed by a tasting of Sardinian wines with local products, from Vermentino to Cannonau.

Portoscuso
Sulcis-Iglesiente
Quiet fishing town on the southwest coast, with a harbour, sea views and Sa Ghinghetta beach within walking distance. Our base for the week, right by the water.
Iglesias
Sulcis-Iglesiente
Historic mining town, around 20 kilometres from Portoscuso. Its old town of lanes, piazzas and churches is easy to cover in an afternoon.
